Eye Examinations
Your eye exam checks the refractive state of your eyes and their ocular health.
Routine eye exams are recommended every two years and every year if there is a family history of eye disease.
Children’s vision can change very quickly and annual eye exams are recommended.
During the eye exam the Optometrist testing you will determine if you have Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism, Presbyopia, Ocular Allergies, Glaucoma, Cataracts, or any other eye diseases.
If a refractive error is found spectacles or contact lenses will be prescribed.If any eye disease is discovered you will be referred to an Ophthalmologist.
Glaucoma Screening
Your Optometrist will examine the back of your eye and optic nerve for changes and measure your intraocular pressure.It is recommended that every one over 40 have their eyes checked every two years. If there is a family history of glaucoma annual eye examinations are recommended.
Dispensing of Optical Prescriptions
Value Optical offers in house lens edging at both of our locations, some prescriptions can be filled within an hour.
We aim to deliver a friendly and professional service and all our staff are trained in the fundamentals of frame and lens selection. We're all happy to volunteer an opinion on what you're trying on, or to suggest an alternative. And since we're an independent optometry practice we aren't bound to any particular frame or lens manufacturer, and this means we really can recommend what will work best for you.
